Winebusiness.com has been filtering some very telling stories in recent days. Here are the Top 3 and The Farmer’s commentary:
1. Champagne is as good for the heart as cocoa – but more fun, scientists find
FARMER’S COMMENTARY: We’ve got 60 ton of Chardonnay just waiting to make someone feel good about the Champagne they’ve been drinking. Heck I’ll guarantee that it will just about cure anything! Swine Flu included.
2. Wine cheaper than Coke and water
FARMER’S COMMENTARY: With Costco no longer carrying Coke and their extensive wine supply, I guess as they say, “all’s fair in love and war.” Good use for a Coke bottle (or in this case Pepsi). Not recommended for Wine bottles!
3. paulg’s blog: unfined & unfiltered on Andy Beckstoffer
FARMER’S COMMENTARY:“Red wine is made in the vineyard; white wine in the winery.” Now Andy, did you and I living through the same 2009 vintage? I’m not sure. Those whites were a beast coupled with the rain. Where we do agree is the nugget several paragraphs down and Merlot as it relates to growing and Carneros.
